And taking up as little usable space as possible while doing it! Bikes are the most important thing you can put in your van, right? Or maybe Skis.. Anyway a bike rack was one of the first things I did. I had the idea for this before seeing it. Before even getting my van browsing the Ford Transit Forums, I saw this system implemented. It allows the bikes to be on the inside, away from the elements and possible theft, while still not taking up much usable space, and still allowing easy access to the rear doors. I'll let the photos do most of the talking, just know if you don't have a bed or shelves to hold the bikes in place, you may need to rig up a bungee cord system to keep the bikes from shifting around too much. You will need plusnuts, a thru-axle or Q-R rack (or adapter), 1/4-20 bolts and locking washers. I ended up securing the handlebars to the bike frame to keep it from shifting around as much. I might also suggest a tennis ball with a hole cut in it to cover the pedal. The second rack installed on the other side. More often then not its just my bike in here, but a second does fit. They end up overlapping a little but its not a problem.
