I decided to install a new front bumper on DeVandra. Instead of paying more than $600 for shipping on the bumper, I made a trip out of the ordeal and pick the bumper up from Aluminess. On the way out I met my mom and step father at Valley of Fire State Park, just outside of Las Vegas. Valley of Fire is a little lesser-known and certainly smaller, but it seemed a little less crowded then some of the bigger spots in the four corners states. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking from here.
SoCal was interesting. Highlights where meeting and staying in front of my step cousin's house in Pacific Beach, riding my fat bike along the shoreline in La Jolla, and seeing the band Too Many Zooz play at The Belly Up.
The urban planning of Southern California is another story. Its like they were trying to make a city but there wasn't enough room but they didn't give a fuck so they just plastered the houses in shitty suburban cul-de-sac neighborhoods on the faces of cliffs and expected there not to be a problem. Not only is this place downright bike unfriendly, its not car friendly either. Rant over.
Lastly, if you are in the area, I highly recommend a stay and a soak at Mystic Hot-springs near where 15 and 70 meet in Utah
